Degrees of Freedom: Screencasts

Explains how to calculate degrees of freedom and performs two examples on single unit processes.

We suggest that after watching this screencast, you list the important points as a way to increase retention.

Performs degrees of freedom analyses on a multiple unit process.

Important Equations:

DOF = #unknowns – #independent balances – #other equations

where DOF are the degrees of freedom.

When DOF = 0, the system is solvable, when DOF > 0, the system is underspecified; and when DOF < 0, the system is overspecified.
