Absorption and Henry's Law: ConcepTest and Example Problem

Try to answer this ConcepTest and solve the example problem before using this module. Studies show that trying to answer the questions before studying material improves learning and retention. We suggest that you write down the reasons for your answers. By the end of this module, you should be able to answer these on your own. Answers will be given at the end of this module.

A practice problem about gas concentrations in water for an Absorption and Henry's Law Self Study Module.
Example Problem

A dry air stream at 5 bar enters a single-stage stripping process and is contacted with water that contains an organic compound at 20°C. The Henry’s coefficient for the organic is 2.5 bar. What flow rate of air per mole of water is needed to reduce the amount of organic in the water by 95% if the concentration in the entering liquid phase is 0.05%?
