Adiabatic Flame Temperature: Example Problem

Try to solve this problem before watching the solution in the screencast.

Example Problem

Calculate the adiabatic flame temperature when n-butane burns in 100% excess air at 1.0-bar pressure. Both air and n-butane gas are fed at 25°C. Use the heat capacities equation below (T is in kelvin) and the parameters in the table. These parameters are applicable from 273 to 1800 K.

\[C_{P,i} = A_i + B_iT + C_iT^2 + D_iT^3\]
