Derivation of a Pressure Field and Fluid at Rest: Example Problem

Try to solve this problem before watching the solution in the screencast.

Example Problem

Consider a closed tank that is partially filled with a fluid. The air pressure in the tank is 6 psi and the depth of the fluid is 10 ft. If the fluid is water (specific weight = 62.43 lbf/ft3), what is the pressure at the bottom of the tank in psi? Compare this to the pressure if the fluid is glycerin (specific weight = 78.6 lbf/ft3).
